Thank you to all our 2018 Good Food EXPO general and Eco-educators volunteers!
We can’t do it without our wonderful volunteers! Our volunteers are instrumental to every aspect of the Good Food EXPO and help produce an amazing event that educates and inspires people to make better choices for a Good Food economy. Our sincere thanks to everyone for helping out at the 2018 Good Food EXPO!
Our general volunteers are instrumental in so many areas of setup, day of and breakdown operations including by not limited to registration, back of house, load in, exhibitor setup, panel discussions, gift bag stuffing and so much more. 2019 volunteer information will be posted in late Fall 2018.
Eco-Educators play a vital role in EXPO resource recovery and eco-education, inspiring attendees to identify and divert resources and learn about environmental sustainability. At the 2018 Good Food EXPO, the UIC Office of Sustainability worked with Bright Beat and FamilyFarmed to refine resource recovery. In this important role, volunteers were positioned at prominent “Eco Stations” throughout the event, to inspire and educate event-goers in the proper disposal of their compostable and recyclable items. Eco-Educators partake in this wonderful opportunity to strengthen the Zero Waste Campus goal of the UIC Climate Commitments.
Our Eco-Educators and event efforts ultimately contribute to a Zero Waste Guide specifically developed for the UIC Forum, and reflect the sustainability community at UIC.
